Edit: GW have requested I remove these pictures from my blog.
The pictures can still be viewed here at Petes blog. Of course you can just go out and buy the WD since its available now, and you can see the new releases in better quality. There is also some nice FW previews in the back...
Why do Daemons need a cannon..... Is this Demigryph syndrome again??
ReplyDeleteThe daemons need a cannon like a fish needs a bicycle...which would make an awesome Tzeentch chariot.
DeleteKhorne had cannons waayyyy back when. Essentially its the balance for total lack of ranged magic. Plus Khorne is a warrior in every era so ranged weapons - while not as pure as an axe - are still preferred to the cowardly magics.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! I do remember the Khornate cannons. Maybe they will just have a higher chance of missing their targets, not being guided by/made of magic after all...
DeleteTerrible, Only the Tzeentch chariot that isn't covered in fail looks even passible. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteThey look like they just kit bashed their own models??
ReplyDeleteI just don't know what to think!
Again with the bad CAD-worked designs based on poor concepts. Horrible, just horrible. I'm looking forward to see what every one comes up with for conversions instead of using these horrid miniatures.
ReplyDelete@ The Prirate Viking, I like your point that the Khorne cannon is a model from the past, but that picture makes it look silly. Hopefully it looks better in person!
ReplyDelete@ Minitro, I agree the chariots, throne and cannon, are not impressive. And I actually really like the plague drones, but the plague bearers on top look stupid. On the other hand the heralds all look awesome!
I was going to write up a Daemons of Chaos prediction list on my blog Sweetman Says, but didn't get around to it. I think we will see a lot of parallels to the Warriors of Chaos book. Higher cost on core infantry, a similar Daemon Prince, and the ability to take an extremely mobile force with minimum infantry. I hope I'm wrong, but we should know before too long!
Thanks for the images!
Mike
Looks like instead of sculpting something they took a crap and rolled it around in a litterbox full of chaos bits.
ReplyDeleteLook up Hieronymus Bosch on Google image search. Or John Blanche, the longest serving illustrator for Games Workshop. They nailed the look for the chariot pieces. Phenomenal! I might actually have to start playing Daemons.
ReplyDeleteIve posted some rules info for the WHFB stuff

I'm a chaos daemon fanboy and this is my verdict: that's a joke?
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteJossy tahnk You Good Sir !
Is it already known if the Heralds are Plastic or resin ?
Just to make you scream in frustration the Nurgle herald is plastic but...
DeleteKhorne and Slaanesh are Finecast.
Tzeentch is only available with the chariot but is plastic.
Heh. It was pointed out to me today that there is already a Tzeentch Herald released last year...
