What do we have here?

What is dis?

One hangs on to hope it could be a WHFB chaos supplement along the lines of the Nagash book, but being that it is from forgeworld, I'm expecting some Chaos 30/40k rubbish...

It is a very "fantasy" looking icon however....

40 days of 40K

Its been a week so far on this little side journey from my usual flavour of plastic krak, so what better time than to post some updates!

I've been busy this last week making up several kits including a Sicaran, 3 Predators, 2 Vinidcators, 2 Drop Pods, a Land Raider Protos, 30 Devastators 10 Assault and 20 Tactical Marines in MkIV armour + some assorted Mechanicus infantry.

Over the weekend I got a chance to get some undercoats, basecoats and varnish on in preparation for the chipping mediums.

I've also ordered 10 Destroyer's and some brass Icons that I will use to make up some Sternguard. We'll see how well that goes...

40 days of 40k...

So I've been having a bit of hobby block lately after spending most of the year playing ETC Hammer in preparation for the ETC WHFB event.

In an attempt to change things up a little I am going to invest some time into painting up my predominantly Forgeworld 40k army. There is a 1850 point 40K singles event coming up thats kinda local, so thats the goal. This will also give me something else to use against the local players around here, who mainly play 40k.

I have no clue about what's the go and what's not, so the rule of cool will be the answer. I have never played a game of 7th edition so I will be painting what interests me mainly.

Starting with the Fire Raptor I started a few months ago, and then most likely onto the Fellblade I have half finished on my desk.

Space Hulk re-release confirmed

So this weeks White Dwarf confirms Space Hulk is being re- released, and ends one of the most amazing releases Games Workshop has done in recent times.
So much so that several exclusively 40k players down this way have made the jump and started WHFB!

Yup same edition as last time, but now it includes four additional missions, and some additional counters and gaming material.

Model range remains the same

White Dwarf includes some new missions. I'm unsure if these are the new ones or in addition to new ones in the box?

So rumours are surfacing next week is a 40k release, presumably Dark Eldar (Necrons are just as likely IMO) and then on to an expected second End of Times book focusing on Chaos forces. Rejoice, the all stars will be reunited once again!

White Dwarf: Morghasts released

This coming weeks White Dwarf is doing the rounds on Twitter already. This time we see the much awaited Morghast variants. I posted earlier here how huge they are

They come in at $113 for a box of two. Although the price is steep, I was expecting about $98 for 1!

The box can build the two variants, Harbingers and Archai, which basically mean they get different weapons.

And in this weeks release we also get the new Spirit Hosts. These models tie in well with the new Undead legion releases and also offer a through back to the likes of the Coven Throne.

With these few release Vampire Counts are looking to be one of the nicest ranges of models in Games Workshops line up. Once they re-sculpt the zombies and release a few odds and ends like the Bats, job done right? I hope not...

Now if only Tomb Kings would get this type of treatment. Hurry up and makke new core skellies!
