Avatars of War announces new Dark Elves line

As the title states, Avatars of war are doing a Dark Elves range as there next project.

Black Shadows

The next army list for Warthrone will be the Dark Elves, arriving accompanied by several future releases in the form characters and regiments for this army. 
The first to arrive are the Black Shadows, stealthy assassins who infiltrate the enemy ranks to spy, sabotage their plans or kill their commanders.

I especially like their take on the female assassin. Nice original sculpt, and a nice addition to any ones Dark Elves collection. 

With two new ranges of Dark Elves due this year, (AoW and Raging Heroes) 2014 looks to be a great year to collect Dark Elves! It will be interesting to see how the two companies will compete to get similar product range to the market. I expect some to see some amazing models.

Raging Heroes Dark Elves Kickstarter Updates

If you follow my blog regularly you would know I am awaiting the launch of Raging Heroes Kickstarter campaign for their Dark Elves range.

In a recent update about the "Toughest Girls in the Galaxy" Kickstarter we got a few more tip bits of information...

Dark Elves and Sisters of Eternal Mercy Kickstarter

 As you know, Alex, our Concept Artist, has had much time on his hands since he finished designing the TGG characters. Therefore, since August, he's been working on adding new designs and exploring new directions for our Dark Elf Invasion and our Sisters of Eternal Mercy. He worked so well that even if we still have not begun focusing on this project yet, he has probably done 2/3rd of the DE designs, and big chunk of the Sisters'.
Also, and this is very important, please know that the Dark Elves and the Sisters of Eternal Mercy will both be available in 2 versions: Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
Fluff Alert! We'll soon begin unveiling bits and pieces of the dark and twisted background for these new factions!!!

And so, as we did last year before launching the TGG Kickstarter, we will now begin to regularly share with you several designs for this upcoming project. There is no definite launch date for this new Kickstarter, although it would be nice to see it happen in late Spring 2014.

So the northern hemisphere spring is March - May, so basically in the next 3 to 6 months the kickstarter will kick off. Not only that but we can expect a bit of the concept artwork to be released leading up to the start of the campaign!

I think this kickstarter will be hugely popular as it covers not only Dark Elves in a fantasy aspect but also a scify aspect, encompassing both a male and female range of models.

Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter - Another picture dump

Raging Heroes have provided us with another huge picture dump of the next batch of 3D computer sculpts. Whilst they all look amazing, I am starting to tire of the concepts and would much rather see some finished product in my hands...

Raging Heroes Dark Elves Kickstarter confirmed

A few days ago Raging Heroes updated their "Toughest Girls of the Galaxy" Kickstarter page with a plethora of new sculpts and digital designs for the upcoming range. 

Hidden away in all the words (and there was a lot!) was this little snippets:

The Dark Elves...

We were very excited to get so much positive feedback on the Dark Elves concepts, and on the prospect of focusing our future Kickstarter on the Dark Elves and the Sisters of Eternal Mercy. To be honest, we were not quite sure that doing a DE Kickstarter was the right thing to do next, but apparently, you are telling us that we should not hesitate.

So, as previously explained, this project will include both Fantasy and SF versions of our Dark Elves and of our Sisters of Eternal Mercy. But it will have to wait a bit, because right now, we are putting all of our energy into delivering the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy.

Highly anticipated but I am still doing a happy dance! I simply can't wait for this, however the timing is very unfortunate since I want them now...

Toughest Girls of the Galaxy

So earlier this year I participated in Raging Heroes the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter  at a Lieutenant level. I think this was one of the better executed miniature kickstarters with a lot of stretch goals and added bonuses for participating.

They recently posted up some finished designs for most of their troops and heroines.

Unfortunately, and I don't think I am alone here, this leaves me in a predicament...

Which ones do I go for? I was leaning towards the "Jailbirds" initially but they all look very good. I imagine that they will most likely end up as a Necromunda gang or alternatively there even looks to be some good "Adeptis Sororatis" representations in the range that I could use as 

allies for my Imperial Fists.

One thing is for sure, Raging Heroes has managed to design some very nice models. Up until recently there had not been very many options for good sculpts of female Sci fi miniatures. However there seams to have been an explosion in the market of late. Who woulda thunk that boobs sell?!...  Here are some pictures in case you have not seen the range yet.
