Raging Heroes TGG2 Kickstarter

Raging Heroes have launched their second TGotG Kickstarter, this time focusing on Elven factions from both Scifi and Fantasy settings.

You can find it here. But you will need to be quick, as this is only available to back for two weeks! They are already at $450k

Now as many will be aware, Raging Heroes has made a complete hash of their projected delivery times from their first Kickstarter campaign, with many (including me) still not receiving anything so far (at the time of posting this) after two years....

But I am a glutton for punishment. The artwork is once again stunning, and RH have been able to capture that in their miniature range with the first go round the merry go round. I've pledged for a lieutenant box and will be likely picking up predominantly fantasy range. That being said they have estimated March 2016 as a delivery date, so expect them in 2018?

In three years from now I will most likely want to refresh my Dark Elves so perfect timing? Ok I'm grasping here, but there is more than a passing interest in just a few models. I don't even intend to use them in a gaming situation, just to paint/collect (hoard).

Looking forward to today's show and tell of the second freebie

Games & Gears/Ichiban Studios Pro Line Brush Kickstarter ending soon

These look rather good and are set at a very nice price. Ive taken a punt for a set and at $60 NZD including tracked shipping there a fair bit cheaper than your old GW hack brush.

Once they arrive I will try do a small comparison to my Rafael and W&N brushes.

With less than a day to go you better be in quick if you want some high quality brushes for a dime...

New models unlocked on Creature Caster Kickstarter

The Kickstarter campaign is marching along steadily now with two new models unlocked alongside a plethora of free upgrades to the existing range. In what was rather astute timing a new model of a Tree Woman has been released.

This is very divergent to the new Games Workshop one and is sure to appease those who do not like the new aesthetic (I happen to love the new look of the new GW Treeman). I'm not sold on the CC Treewoman, and to me it looks like just another excuse for tits on a model...

Now along comes the next model, this time the Zombie Dragon. A nice enough render but I will wait till I see the model finished before passing judgement. There is a very saturated Undead Dragon market out there however the render does look nicer than the plastic GW version.

New updated kickstarter pricelist

And by the looks of it there is one more model to be unlocked. This should be the last in the initial range as Jeremy has stated he does not want to get to "greedy" the first time around. The remaining goals are likely to be bundle deals and upgrade variations to the new and existing models

Creature Caster - Something to keep an eye on...

Hey everyone. Jeremy here, formerly of Ultraforge. I am here to humbly pitch the Kickstarter campaign for my miniatures company called: Creature Caster.
After researching, following and supporting a few Kickstarter campaigns, I found that I am not a fan of complex campaigns with confusing stretch goal maps and pledge calculators. Tho there is a story behind each miniature, I didn't write pages of fluff. I also don't want to explain too much about my personal life in my campaign. Instead, I spend my time trying to sculpt and manufacture the best miniatures I can, and with feedback and practice I can hopefully make gains and improve with each one.
I love this hobby. My best friends are the people in this hobby. I wanna make models that people appreciate, and it is really that simple.
Check out the campaign when it launches on Feb 1st, 12:01 PST. There will be door-crasher specials on the first day, and those units will sell out fast, so be there the minute it launches.
Most questions you have regarding the sculpting, manufacture and sales of the miniatures can be found on http://www.creaturecaster.com/ . There is even a short 'behind the scenes' video, and well as the video we will have on our Kickstarter page. If anything is not covered on the site, just post your questions here and I will be glad to answer it as soon as I can. I also posted some more information below.
Most importantly, thank you very much for your support.

Jeremy

Information on pricing/pledging (will be updated as the thread progresses)
- the idea is: you pledge on a model or a package deal, and then you may add other miniatures to your pledge (at a discounted rate) in the form of optional upgrades. You may also add stretch goal miniatures as optional upgrades. You will get a questionnaire at the end of the campaign for you to explain exactly what it was that you paid for. Easy- shipping will be bundled. Pay a one time shipping fee on your starter pledge, and thats it.- shipping goes to anywhere a package can be sent to on earth- The Kickstarter discount on all minis will be at least 25% off what their retail price will be in the future- The package deals are insane, and will have you saving closer to 35%.- The stretch goals that will be unveiled during the campaign will be an exciting thing to keep checking up on, since they are all epic creatures- I am making it very easy for you to 'adjust your pledge' and add any additional options as they get added to the campaign. This is going to be a very neat and tidy campaign. - instead of adding a ton of miniatures as stretch goals, we will add a handful and then fulfill our orders ASAP, waiting till the next Kickstarter to add more creatures

Frequently asked questions and comments (will be updated as the thread progresses)
- we will eventually be doing smaller miniatures, with the same quality in sculpt and manufacture, but not in this campaign. We have plans for down the road- the models are sculpted in the computer, with the sensibilities that I have picked up from physically sculpting for the last 10 years. We do things the hard way- the master model is 3D printed with the most high-end printer on the market today, which is then resin-cast to capture all the detail and add durability. The Creature Caster team is a rare combination, with expertise and first hand experience in each of these fields- actual heights for the models are on our website, with clear diagrams- our models all are stood on base rocks. The rock is a counterweight which makes our models very stable on a tabletop while still fitting onto a small footprint. The height that the rock adds does not appeal to all gamers who are concerned about line-of-sight rules. I personally dislike and replace any LoS rule in any tabletop wargame I play and instead measure base to base, and discuss whether or not my model is in cover based on common sense and honor. LoS makes perfect sense in first person shooters, and makes little sense in tabletop wargaming when each sculpt should represent a unit, not actually be a frozen version of a real unit moving around a table.- our models typically are featured in dynamic poses, with an asymmetrical height of each foot. I would personally prefer my creatures to be 'foot on rock' as opposed to 'feet flat'. It is a preference thing, but we are still open to applying the variety of feedback we receive when sculpting future models.

Secret Weapon Miniatures Tablescapes - Urban Tile previews

Secret Weapon Miniatures Tablescapes Kickstarter project is in its final stages of production.

They recently previewed some production tiles for the ruined urban landscape and they are definitely living up to the promise

The detail they have retained on these is amazing. Secret Weapon Miniatures is still predicting a march Delivery date for all 5 unlocked styles. I myself pledged for the clean and ruined urban landscape, which will form the basis of my Heresy Table based on a Mars chemical refinery and/or arms manufacturer.

The last set we are waiting on now is the ruined temple theme which I wish to use as a fantasy table mixed in with the rolling fields.

Raging Heroes Dark Elves Kickstarter Updates

If you follow my blog regularly you would know I am awaiting the launch of Raging Heroes Kickstarter campaign for their Dark Elves range.

In a recent update about the "Toughest Girls in the Galaxy" Kickstarter we got a few more tip bits of information...

Dark Elves and Sisters of Eternal Mercy Kickstarter
As you know, Alex, our Concept Artist, has had much time on his hands since he finished designing the TGG characters. Therefore, since August, he's been working on adding new designs and exploring new directions for our Dark Elf Invasion and our Sisters of Eternal Mercy. He worked so well that even if we still have not begun focusing on this project yet, he has probably done 2/3rd of the DE designs, and big chunk of the Sisters'.
Also, and this is very important, please know that the Dark Elves and the Sisters of Eternal Mercy will both be available in 2 versions: Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
Fluff Alert! We'll soon begin unveiling bits and pieces of the dark and twisted background for these new factions!!!
And so, as we did last year before launching the TGG Kickstarter, we will now begin to regularly share with you several designs for this upcoming project. There is no definite launch date for this new Kickstarter, although it would be nice to see it happen in late Spring 2014.

So the northern hemisphere spring is March - May, so basically in the next 3 to 6 months the kickstarter will kick off. Not only that but we can expect a bit of the concept artwork to be released leading up to the start of the campaign!

I think this kickstarter will be hugely popular as it covers not only Dark Elves in a fantasy aspect but also a scify aspect, encompassing both a male and female range of models.

Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter - Another picture dump

Raging Heroes have provided us with another huge picture dump of the next batch of 3D computer sculpts. Whilst they all look amazing, I am starting to tire of the concepts and would much rather see some finished product in my hands...

The full post can be found here

For the mean time, enjoy all the pretty pictures
